I wonder why more people don't play drums like that.
It's still a nice suit
Great song, great band.
Look how happy Leonard Cohen is with this performance!!!
I FUCKING LOVE JELLYFISH SO MUCH
Seeing them on this show was the first time I saw them, instantly hooked, bought Spilt Milk after that, just rediscovered it and playing on repeat when I can. Love this song.
The final chorus/Coda is so good on this performance. I was fortunate to see the original lineup play two shows supporting Bellybutton, and one of the things that always differentiated them live was the vocal harmonies.
Saw them 3 nights in a row, Charlotte, Atlanta & Augusta…on the Spilt Milk tour. Amazing
1993, Providence ,RI, CLUB BABYHEAD. Awesome show!
The general consensus is that the second album is the best. I disagree the first has not one bad track and flows together perfectly whereas the second by the time you get to side two seems to run out of steam. Still that's my opinion.
Fuck it, we'll do it live
They are Americans with 100% British mind in their heart definitely!soooooo rare American band , that’s why I instantly fell in love!!!😢😢😢😢😢🎉
Sang this one sooooo loudly with my karaoke machine one day at home when my house mate sooo upset me!!! HE fucking deserve to this one!!! He is the living ghost number one!!! Who thinks always he is right!!! Piss off cunt!!!🤬🤬🤬
I was lucky enough to see them open for the Black Crowes on the Bellybutton tour & out on their own for Spilt Milk tour. Unforgettable!
Dave sounds good with Matt on alto, I prefer this blend over tenor and sop.
Pat's voice sounds amazing, even better than it did when he was younger and fronting bands such as Beagle Voyage and Birdy.

Just outstanding, letter perfect, with passion. On Brit TV, no less.
Saw them live in 91' and they were absolutely awesome. A very technical band, great musicians all of them.
This is insane 😮
The Master.
THEY WERE SO FUCKING GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so awesome!! just discovered jellyfish a few days ago
I first saw them supporting INXS at Wembley Stadium in 1991 & they blew me away. The Bellybutton & Spilt milk albums were exceptional. The guys were so talented, gutted when they split up.
Thank you shalom. Mazel tov
2024 loved these guys 🎉
This is the best live show of a ghost at number one, definitely!!!🎉🎉🎉
No doubt!
Here
Whisper it...better songs than Wilco
I knew them through my favourite Japanese indie rock band called unicorn in early 90s, and heard jellyfish was massively influenced by Beatles…heard they used to be very workaholic in the harmonies..understandable…
I can’t believe such a musically talented band didn’t make it farther. Love them.
☘️
This shit is the best. How can anyone NOT listen to these guys? Soooooo talented and waaaaayyyyy overrated😊
Sorry. Under rated😊 jellyfish are probably the best band that never made a million. They allegedly would rehearse for 12 weeks for a 45 minute show.....and you can tell😂
What happened to the second verse??
As the fab Justin Hawkins has commented (see his video!), the greatest band that never made It.
Greatest song of all time👍
What a performance
2024 and this still stands as one of the best live performances of any band ever!!! 👌🏼
I think some of this stuff is definitely sequenced .. the vocal of Roger Manning's bit definitely sounds lifted directly from the studio recording .. But this is Jools Holland, so whatever. I think this performance is definitely a mixed bag of sequenced over dubs, some lip synching and real time playing. I don't think I would say this is a definitive live performance although it sounds fantastic. It's a real shame they didn't stick around longer because I'm sure we would've gotten some brilliant live stuff locked down to video/film .. Both albums are absolute classics and some of my favorite music in the world.
Live performances. They were very talented. @@Fiveash-Art
I was just listening to "Russian Hill" the other day when I found this clip. Great band that ended too soon.
These guys were simply awesome!!!
SDSU OAT with the Black Crowes June 11, 1991.
Trust dear old Jools to give them the top quality live sound mix they deserved, sounds better than the record.
You've got to hand it to the BBC. They really know how to record bands. Unbelievable.
Damn these folks were good! Wish I got to see them once.
I love this version. The emphasis on the pedal steel really elevates the song to another level in comparison to the album version. That guy is the unsung hero of Autumn Defense! He also adds incredibly tasteful slide guitar parts to some of their other songs and his playing is really spot-on for that perfect '70s vibe. What a terrific band.
Jellyfish...ridiculously talented band...run and get Bellybutton...buy steal download over hear listen borrow abscond purchase grab this lp...its so good it'll cure balding pates and acne! I bought it and no longer need glasses!
The musicianship is jaw dropping, as is the rest of this brilliant bands material
When introducing a band to someone, I usually tell them to listen to a studio cut and then a live version...but with Jellyfish it doesn't really matter, now does it? One of the very rare bands that can be said of....
One of the greatest unsolved mysteries of the modern age.
Are you the sound engineer? There was an interview and Jellyfish member said they were so greatful that you worked on the album. What I want to know is how to get in touch with Andy Sturmer.
